The range and diversity of Audra's work as an artist is unmatched. She has won seven Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, as well as an Emmy Award. She was the recipient of record-breaking 6 Tony Awards as well as two Grammy Awards and Emmy Awards. In 2004, she received her 4th Tony by starring in A Raisin in the Sun along with Sean Diddy Combs. Then in 2013, she took home her 5th Tony as well as her 1st in the Leading actress category. In the year she received her Sixth Tony in the year 2014 Billie Holiday's portrayal as Lady Day in Lady Day in Emerson's Bar & Grill was Broadway's most decorated show. In 2017 she made the West End London West End debut, and was also nominated for an Olivier Award. Aside from setting a record in the contest in which she won the most Tony Awards by acting performance, she also became the first to have won each of the four categories for acting. Her theater credits includes The Secret Garden (1993) Marie Christine (99) Henry IV (2007) 110 in the Shade (2008) Twelfth (2009) The Twelfth, the Public Theater Shakespeare in the Park debut, Shuffle Along or the Making of the Musical sensation in 1921 and All That Followed (2017) Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune (2018) as well as Ohio State Murders 2023. In the year 2016, McDonald was nominated for the fourth Emmy award for her role as a character in HBO's Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill, a film-special. The Bite will be a six-episode series about a epidemic co-produced with Spectrum Originals, CBS Studios and Taylor Schilling in 2021. The year 2009 saw her debut, McDonald was the U.S. Attorney Liz Lawrence on CBS's drama about lawyers The Good Wife. In 2018, McDonald returned to her role as Liz Reddick as a regular in Paramount+'s The Good Fight. She got three Critics Choice Award nods for her performance. She currently guest-stars in Julian Fellowes's historical drama The Gilded Age on HBO.
