Garena introduced its Garena Professional League (GPL) in the month of May 2012, a 6 month professional gaming league with hundreds of online games. GPL's debut season will feature six teams of professionals League of Legends players. The teams are made up of the top athletes from their respective countries. GPL games are filmed and broadcast live on-line with commentary. They are accessible to fans on the official site. Garena Premier League 2013, started on the 4th of January 2013 will feature two new teams, one each from Taiwan and Vietnam. The teams' total to eight. The teams are AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Saigon Jokers, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. Garena's Sports stadium, which is a venue dedicated to esports in the Neihu District Taipei, opened its doors on the 14th of November in 2014. The stadium was initially constructed to house the League of Legends Masters Series, the world's top LoL Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau league that was a spin-off from GPL. Garena established in the Iron Solari League in January 2015. It is an League of Legends women's tournament held on the Philippines. This is a bimonthly affair which takes place during the second quarter of each month. It is designed to encourage participation in minorities, and is for anyone who self-identifies as a woman. Garena does not just organize tournaments but also organizes offline gatherings and social events that enable users to interact.
